About Andrea

Andrea Rodgers was born in The Netherlands, but grew up in the South — both Memphis, T.N. and Shelby, N.C. She graduated from boarding school at Salem Academy in 1989, and in 1993, graduated from Wake Forest University with a double major in Economics and Politics. Andrea was presented in the 1989 Junior Charity League of Shelby Debutante Ball and in the 1990 North Carolina Debutante Ball in Raleigh, hosted by the Terpsichorean Club.

Rodgers has lived in D.C. for more than a decade, where she is heavily involved in Washington’s charity circuit, and often referred to as a socialite. She has co-founded three major fundraisers – Blondes vs. Brunettes in 2005 to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association, Courage for Kids, formerly The Courage Cup, to benefit at-risk children in 2006, and Fashion for Paws in 2007 to benefit the Washington Humane Society.

In Spring 2009, Andrea was hand-picked by Vogue magazine to be a founding member of The Vogue 100, an organization “of influential decision makers and opinion leaders known for their distinctive taste in fashion and culture, [and who] personify the rising influence of women over the past several decades.”

In 2008, Andrea decided to embrace the term “socialite” as a play on “social media” and named her full-service boutique consulting firm Socialite Marketing. She found it was the perfect name for her brand, as she helps to put businesses and brands in the spotlight — like a socialite. Socialite Marketing specializes in website consulting, social media strategy, public relations, event marketing, and branding including graphic and print design. Andrea Rodgers is President of Socialite Marketing, and is Editor-in-Chief at her national e-magazine, AskMissA.com, where she is better-known as “Miss A”.

Andrea has been featured nationally on CNN and Fox News; internationally on NOS Dutch Public Broadcasting, TV Tokyo, France 24 and Alhurra; and locally on WTTG/Fox 5, WJLA/News Channel 8, and NBC Washington. She has been interviewed by USA Today, Washington Post, Washington Times, Politico, DC Examiner, and Alexandria Times newspapers, and has been profiled by Washingtonian and On Tap magazines. Soon, Andrea will be the first blogger for a fashion megabrand, and this fall, she will be part of a 6-month ad campaign for an international luxury beauty brand, which will include full-page ads in Vogue, Glamour, Allure and W magazine as well as online and in-store promotion.
